Coffee with the Chiefs – The streak lives

Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs won their seventh game in a row on Sunday afternoon in a swamp called Arrowhead Stadium, beating the San Diego Chargers, 10-3. The contest was ugly and sloppy in many ways, but the victory was secured and the Chiefs are now 8-5 and off to a good start in the regular season’s proverbial fourth quarter.

Here is the news you need to know:

Chiefs giving us real reason for hopes of playoff successSam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star

"The Chiefs won the game, and that’s the most important thing, but their incredible season turnaround has made this more about advancing in the playoffs than merely getting there, so the way they win is also important. Or, again, at least that’s how it felt watching live, as the offense struggled (for the second week in a row) and the win was more about the opponent’s inadequacies (for the second week in a row)."

Kansas City holds off saare to defeat San Diego – Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star

"Ford’s defense of Woodhead on the final play of the game thwarted a late San Diego rally, one guided by star quarterback (and bi-annual Chiefs nemesis) Philip Rivers that, as time rattled off the clock, seemed destined to end in a gut-wrenching San Diego touchdown that would either set up a game-tying extra point or game-winning two-point conversion attempt."

Chiefs win has them continuing to climb in record booksJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"I’m at a loss for words to describe what is happening with the Chiefs. This team had so many flaws and it was so obvious they were pretenders early in the season. And now? They have the NFL’s best defense and an offense that somehow scores a lot of points (minus that 10-point Chargers game)."
