Chiefs heavy favorites over host Ravens

Heading into Week 15 of the National Football League’s regular season, the Kansas City Chiefs are in great shape. After beginning the campaign at 1-5 and looking genuinely awful, the Chiefs have improbably reeled off seven consecutive wins and now face the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

When the schedule first came out, it seemed like one of the toughest on the slate. Instead, the Chiefs are heavy favorites to beat the banged-up Ravens, with Vegas favoring Kansas City by 7.5 points on the road, according to OddsShark. While that might not sound like a huge spread, you have to consider that the home team automatically gets three points. If this game were in Arrowhead, the Chiefs would be a two-touchdown favorite.

The Ravens are missing all kinds of talent, ranging from quarterback Joe Flacco, running back Justin Forsett and wide receiver Steve Smith, to outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, left tackle Eugene Monroe and tight end Dennis Pitta. Baltimore is 4-9 and has struggled in recent weeks to do much of anything offensively with Matt Schaub and Jimmy Clausen steering the ship.

Kansas City should have no problem shutting down the offense, but nothing is ever easy. This is the last road game for the Chiefs this regular season, and a win would make them 5-3 away from home.
