Coffee with the Chiefs – NFL’s best?

Good morning, Addicts! It’s a beautiful day. Why? Because the Kansas City Chiefs have won six straight games and today is a Red Friday. The best part is the Chiefs have a home game coming up, hosting the awful San Diego Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs are favored by double digits, something that has only been the case one other time this season. Back in Week 5, Kansas City was a double-digit favorite over the Chicago Bears, only to blow the game in the final seconds. Let’s hope for a better outcome this time around.

Here is the news you need to know:

Chiefs are the NFL’s best team over the past two monthsAaron Schatz of ESPN (Insider)

"When we watched Jamaal Charles’ right knee buckle at the goal line in a Week 5 game against the Chicago Bears, it was supposed to be the end of the 2015 season for the Kansas City Chiefs. Remember, the Chiefs were 1-4 after that loss and would have to play the rest of the season without one of the game’s best running backs — the player their entire offense was built around."

Zach Fulton aces first test at center for Kansas CityTerez Paylor of the Kansas City Star

"But don’t think for a moment Fulton, a 2014 sixth-round draft pick from Tennessee, doesn’t take his job seriously. He most certainly does, and the way he’s attacked a move from right guard to center this year — a position he had never played in a regular-season game until the Chiefs’ 34-20 win over the Raiders on Sunday — is proof of that."

Alex Smith is not happy with short turnaround between San Diego gamesAdam Teicher of ESPN

"Sunday’s game might have a particularly familiar look, in style and tactics if not result. The Chiefs and Chargers played one another three weeks ago in San Diego, with Kansas City winning 33-3. Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith isn’t a big fan of playing a game against a division rival, and one that potentially has big implications with regard to the playoffs, after such a quick turnaround."
