Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs have the day off before preparing for their rematch with the San Diego Chargers, This contest will be taking place at Arrowhead Stadium, after the Chiefs went into Qualcomm Stadium in Week 11 and hammered the Chargers, 33-3.

Hopefully, Kansas City can get nice and healthy over the next few days. The team is banged up, with Justin Houston, Allen Bailey, Mitch Morse, Husain Abdullah and De’Anthony Thomas missing the game on Sunday. Unfortunately, Jeff Allen and Mike DeVito also left Oakland with injuries as well.

Here is the news you need to know:

Jeremy Maclin is motivated and producing for the ChiefsAdam Teicher of ESPN

"Maclin had the good fortune to score both times in the end zone near the Black Hole, and he played to the crowd each time. He fired the ball into the retaining wall after his first score and dropped the ball after the second one while mocking the crowd."

Here’s how Alex Smith rushing affects the ChiefsJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"During the Chiefs first six games in which they started 1-5, Smith averaged just under 20 yards rushing per game. In the Packers and Bengals losses, Alex was repeatedly scrambling from rushers. Since that game with the Chiefs winning six straight, Alex is averaging nearly 35 yards rushing per game. That’s highlighted by the 78-yard game against the Lions, the second in their six-game winning streak."

Marcus Peters returned to Oakland in an emotional homecomingVahe Gregorian of the Kansas City Star

"But it was safe passage here Sunday for Chiefs’ rookie cornerback Marcus Peters, the Oakland native who had just plucked a crucial interception and run it back 58 yards in the fourth quarter to set up the go-ahead touchdown in Kansas City’s 34-20 victory."
