Champ Bailey has Chiefs as Super Bowl dark horse

The Kansas City Chiefs are getting love from an unlikely source. On Monday, former Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey went on ‘The Herd’ with Colin Cowherd on FOX Sports and talked about the potential dark horses in the Super Bowl race.

Cowherd immediately stated that his two teams were the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers (how a two-time defending conference champion and a two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback qualify as dark horses is beyond me, but I digress). The host then asked Bailey who his dark horse was, and the future Hall of Famer did not hesitate.

This is fantastic. Hearing any former player talk about the Chiefs in a positive light is always nice, but to hear a former Broncos star do it? Epic. Hopefully everybody in Denver is listening, especially at the end when he talked about Kansas City’s thumping of Denver at Sports Authority Field not being a fluke. Eat it Denver, eat your freaking hearts out.

At 7-5, the Chiefs are feeling very good about themselves. They are on a six-game winning streak and could be favored by double digits in each of their final four games, with three of them coming at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City is grabbing all kinds of national attention, being ranked in the top 10 by almost every power ranking, along with having an article about it in Rolling Stone.

Times are good for the Chiefs. Times are good.
