AFC playoff picture, Week 14: Chiefs hold firm
We are through the first three quarters of the 2015 National Football League regular season. It has been one of the wildest we have had in recent memory, especially for our Kansas City Chiefs.
After losing five consecutive games form Week 2-6, the Chiefs have now won six consecutive games and are playing like the team we all believed we had back in the summer. Meanwhile, there is a three-way tie for first in the AFC, with the team that won its first 10 games sitting in the third seed.
Here’s how the playoff standings in the AFC look right now:
1. Cincinnati Bengals (10-2)
2. Denver Broncos (10-2)
3. New England Patriots (10-2)
4. Indianapolis Colts (6-6)
5. Kansas City Chiefs (7-5)
6. New York Jets (7-5)
——————————————-
7. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5)
8. Buffalo Bills (6-6)
9. Houston Texans (6-6)
10. Oakland Raiders (5-7)
11. Miami Dolphins (5-7)
12. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-8)
13. Baltimore Ravens (4-8)
14. San Diego Chargers (3-9)
15. Tennessee Titans (3-9)
16. Cleveland Browns (2-10)
Week 14 should continue to give us plenty of clarity. There are ample important matchups, with these being the most important:
- Pittsburgh at Cincinnati
- Buffalo at Philadelphia
- New England at Houston
- Indianapolis at Jacksonville
- San Diego at Kansas City
- Oakland at Denver
The Chiefs are going to be heavy favorites to take down the Chargers, who they beat 33-3 only three weeks ago. Meanwhile, the best game has the Bengals hosting the Steelers. With a win, Cincinnati will clinch the AFC North at Paul Brown Stadium.
The race is on.
