Eric Berry visiting cancer specialist

Don’t panic, the meeting was scheduled. Yes, Eric Berry will be missing practice on Wednesday with the Kansas City Chiefs so he could go home and visit a cancer specialist in Atlanta. Hopefully, everything comes back aces and Berry is back in action tomorrow.

Berry has been having an All-Pro caliber season for the Chiefs. While his numbers are not incredible with two interceptions and 46 tackles, he is making an impact in almost every contest. The 26-year-old was the best player on the field against the San Diego Chargers two weeks ago, making a host of plays.

With Berry and Ron Parker at the two safety spots, it has been very difficult to beat Kansas City over the top. Last week, the Buffalo Bills were able to take the Chiefs to the woodshed in the first half, hitting Sammy Watkins for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns. However, Watkins was completely eliminated in the second half, going without a completion.

The Chiefs are sitting at 6-5 and desperately need Berry and the rest of their star-studded secondary to stay healthy and keep performing. This week, that group will be tested by the Oakland Raiders, who have a dynamic young quarterback in Derek Carr and a pair of nice receivers in Michael Crabtree and rookie Amari Cooper.
