Ben Grubbs placed on Injured Reserve

The Kansas City Chiefs made a roster move on Wednesday that many have been anticipating, with left guard Ben Grubbs going on the Injured Reserve list, according to Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star.

The loss of Grubbs is unfortunate, but Kansas City has been doping just fine without him. The Chiefs have won all four of the games where he has been sidelined with a neck injury, and doing so behind an ever-improving offensive line. When the line is healthy, Kansas City is rolling out a group of Eric Fisher, Jeff Allen, Mitch Morse, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Jah Reid. Nobody will be making the Hall of Fame from that group, but the job is getting done.

In practice on Wednesday, the Chiefs did have Eric Fisher back. Fisher left in the first half against the Buffalo Bills with a neck injury after getting whipped hard from the side. Allen and Morse are both still trying to recover from the injuries they sustained on Sunday, dealing with an ankle and concussion, respectively.

Hopefully, Grubbs can make a full recovery and be dominant in 2016.
