Chiefs pound Chargers, move to 5-5

The Kansas City Chiefs are rolling. Absolutely freaking rolling. On Sunday, the Chiefs went into Qualcomm Stadium and laid the proverbial wood to the San Diego Chargers, winning 33-3 and showcasing that they are in deed for real.

I think I speak for most Kansas City fans when I say there was fear going into this game. The Chiefs beat up on the Denver Broncos last week and it would be the most Chiefs-esque thing to blow this contest. Instead, Kansas City crushed San Diego from the outset.

Alex Smith had a terrific game despite being under pressure throughout much of the day. Smith completed 20-of-25 passes for 253 yards and of course, did not have an interception. Smith also ran for 33 yards, helping to keep multiple drives alive. Spencer Ware was the surprise star of the game, coming in for an injured Charcandrick West to run for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The defense was the main story of the game. Justin Houston notched an interception which he returned for a touchdown, while Tamba Hali came up with two sacks. It was an absolutely dominnt performance and one that should have every Chiefs fan excited about the next six games.

Kansas City now comes home for four of its final six games, playing the easiest schedule in the NFL the rest of the way.
