Coffee with the Chiefs – Suddenly making moves

facebooktwitterreddit

Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs are giving us all something to feel good about these days, not having lost in a month. Who would have though that sentence could ever be written when the team was 1-56 and looking like absolute garbage?

The Chiefs have the day off today before getting back to work for three days, starting on Wednesday. Kansas City will then fly out on Saturday to play the San Diego Chargers on Sunday afternoon.

Here’s the news you need to know:

Chiefs suddenly believe that anything is possibleAdam Teicher of ESPN

"As far as the rest of the picture, the Chiefs have to be taken seriously, or as seriously as a team with a losing record can be, after their 29-13 win over the Broncos. They are just a game behind 5-4 Buffalo, which currently holds the AFC’s final wild-card spot, and they play against the Bills in two weeks in their next game at Arrowhead Stadium."

Jeremy Maclin providing Kansas City with more than just catchesAdam Teicher of ESPN

"Maclin hustled downfield to throw a block on Broncos safety T.J. Ward just before West crossed into the end zone. The play, though clean, still irritated Ward to the point he took a swing at Maclin as the play came to an end."

Kansas City’s offense is god enough with this terrific defenseJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"After starting 1-5, I’m content with where things are right now. The Chiefs identity is becoming clear and they are who we thought they were: an elite defense with an offense that doesn’t screw it up. If the defense can’t do that, the Chiefs are probably in trouble. But maybe they can…."
