Chiefs at Broncos: How to watch

The Kansas City Chiefs have not beaten the Denver Broncos since Romeo Crennel was the head coach. Barack Obama was still in his first term of office, and the price of milk was something like 28 cents per gallon. In other words, it’s been a long damn time.

If Kansas City is going to make a serious push at the playoffs, the time begins now. The Chiefs have picked themselves off the mat and won two straight games to get into the AFC playoff picture at 3-5. While it is not pretty, the rest of their schedule lines up beautifully for a massive run in the second half.

The question, though, is whether Kansas City can find a way to slay Denver? A win would put the Chiefs at 4-5 and suddenly in great position. The other seven games of the second half include a pair against the San Diego Chargers, two against the Oakland Raiders, a road game against the Baltimore Ravens, and home dates with the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns. Only one of those teams, Buffalo, has a winning record.

The Chiefs have an opportunity to salvage this mess of a season, but a loss against the Broncos would put them on life support. Kansas City would only be able to afford one more defeat before closing the casket on 2015. Can Alex Smith and Co. rise up, or will it be another wasted tease?
