Coffee with the Chiefs – Can they beat Peyton Manning?

Good morning, Addicts! It’s HUMP DAYYYYYYYY. The Kansas City Chiefs are back at practice, getting ready to take on the Denver Broncos in their Week 10 matchup at Sports Authority Field. Denver has won the last seven contests between the two teams, something that makes everybody’s stomach turn in Kansas City.

It will be interesting to see what happens this week, with the Chiefs coming off a BYE and the Broncos looking to rebound from a loss. Denver is also without two of its top defensive players in cornerback Aqib Talib and outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware. Ware is dealing with a back injury while Talib is serving a one-game suspension for poking the eye of Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen.

Here is the news you need to know:

Chiefs’ inability to finish has fueled losing streak to Peyton ManningAdam Teicher of ESPN

"The Chiefs still vividly recall the grisly details of the finish of this year’s game between the teams in Kansas City. In September, the Chiefs led 24-17 in the game’s final minute but allowed the Broncos to score two touchdowns in the final minute to take a 31-24 victory. The second touchdown came on a fumble return with the Chiefs merely trying to run out the clock and play for overtime."

Missouri situation hits home for head coach Andy ReidAdam Teicher of ESPN

"The president of Missouri system stepped down Monday amid criticism of his handling of student complaints about race and discrimination. A possible player strike at Missouri was averted when president Tim Wolfe resigned. Missouri players had talked of a boycott of practice and games unless Wolfe was removed from office."

A brief history of Von Miller’s cheap shotsSeth Keysor of Arrowhead Pride

"Miller doesn’t make much of an impact because, you know, helmets. So then he tries again. But unfortunately for him, his momentum has taken him too far forward and it just looks like he’s attempting some form of the Stinger Splash (which, to be fair, I totally respect)."
