3. Offense needs to score touchdowns

As with every key to victory there is always an obvious one it would seem. Scoring touchdowns has been something this team has struggled with over the last few games. Field goals are good, so you don’t have empty drives when on offense. Scoring actual touchdowns in the red zone is an area this team continues to work on.

The Lions know how to score. Don’t underestimate their currently slump as an indication of how things actually are. The have a good pass game when working and rookie Ameer Abdulah and be a threat if he catches fire. Not saying this game will be a shoot out, but it is possible due the fact that both teams have issues on defense.

If it comes down to it though, the Chiefs has the better edge because of the fact Smith does not take those big chances but Stafford will. KC also has a better run game, and the Lions run defense needs some much needed improvement. The Chiefs will need to score touchdowns in order to secure a victory as the Lions offense can equally match them.

This is a very winnable game for the Chiefs. The Lions have struggled in many of their games, and the firing of the offensive coordinator on Monday does not bode well for a quick fix to their offense struggles. All in all this will be a good game for Kansas City before the head into the bye week.

Prediction: Kansas City 28 Detroit 17
