Coffee with the Chiefs: KC mediocre??

Good morning, Addicts! Our Kansas City Chiefs have made the transcontinental flight to London, England and will practice there over the next couple of days before playing the Detroit Lions at Wembley Stadium. Of course, there is plenty of other things to be excited about before we get to the game, including the World Series.

The Kansas City Royals are leading the New York Mets by a two games to none line with the scene shifting from Kauffman Stadium to Citi Field. New York will try to stop the momentum with Noah Syndergaard on the bump, while the Royals are trying to all but end the competitive phase of the baseball season.

Here’s the news you need to know:

Chiefs are mediocre on offense and defenseBrendan Savage of MLive.com

"Every Thursday we’ll take a look at the Detroit Lions’ upcoming opponent and gather all the information and links you’ll need to get to know the opposition."

These hypothetical trades are a horrible idea for Kansas CityJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"Hali restructured his contract to return to Kansas City for what is perhaps his final NFL season. I can’t imagine part of the plan would be to trade him away. DJ is an all-time Chief and Clark Hunt even once mentioned a contract extension for him. Are they going to trade the most tenured Chief on the roster?"

Tamba Hali keeps moving up franchise sacks listDave Skretta of the Associated Press

"Hali had had two more sacks last weekend against Pittsburgh to give him 82 1/2 for his 10-year career. He needs just four more to match Smith for second-most in franchise history, trailing only the 126 1/2 sacks that Thomas racked up during his Hall of Fame career."
