Coffee with the Chiefs – Jeremy Maclin to play?

facebooktwitterreddit

Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs are taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers today at Arrowhead Stadium, hoping to win their first game at home this season. The Chiefs are 1-5 while the Steelers are 4-2, and the two teams seem to be going in opposite directions.

Pittsburgh will be starting quarterback Landry Jones unless Ben Roethlisberger shocks us all. Can the Chiefs find a way to beat a third-string quarterback at home with the likes of Justin Houston and Allen Bailey in hunt mode?

Regardless, here is the news you need to know:

Jeremy Maclin is expected to play The Sports Xchange

"Maclin missed the first two days of practice this week after suffering a concussion last Sunday. However, coach Andy Reid told the Kansas City Star on Friday that Maclin has satisfied all the requirements of the concussion protocol and will play Sunday as long as concussion symptoms do not return."

Three things to watch: Steelers at ChiefsJacob Klinger of PennLive.com

"Assuming Shazier does in fact come back though, his abandon in throwing his body around the field needs to return with him. If it does, the Steelers get a full-field run stopper and speedy defender against the pass, which could be especially key facing Travis Kelce."

Chiefs go from underdogs to favorites with Jones likely to startJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"Fans seem to be more down on the Chiefs than the oddsmakers. Ask any fan and they’ll say the Chiefs are a bad team given their 1-5 record (and they’re not wrong!). But each week the odds on Chiefs games are close. They were massive favorites over the Bears in Week 5, slight underdogs on the road against the Vikings in Week 6 and now favorites over the Steelers in Week 7."
