Cleveland Browns:  The Browns just can’t catch a break.  After having attended rehab in the offseason, many believed quarterback Johnny Manziel had restarted his life.  That fell apart this week when he was pulled over by police and it was revealed that he had been drinking and physically abusing his girlfriend.

Dallas Cowboys:  In the wake of injuries and poor performances, the Cowboys backfield is about to have a much different look as both quarterback Matt Cassel and running back Christine Michael are slated to take over the duties of sparking the offense.  This is coming at the same time as a rookie La’el Collins takes over at left guard.  There was some speculation that Dez Bryant could be making his return this week, but that remains doubtful.

Chiefs’ take

: The move of putting Collins in as the starter is all about the team investing in their future, and is not at all an indictment on the ability of Ronald Leary, who had been starting there.  The Chiefs should certainly consider giving Leary a look given their current situation with the offensive line, though they might wait until the offseason when he likely becomes a free agent.

Denver Broncos:  At 6-0, the Broncos are fielding questions on whether or not it is time to bench Peyton Manning for Brock Osweiler.

  • Chiefs’ take: Part of me says “Please yes!”, but overall I would really like for the Chiefs to beat a Manning-led Broncos team at least once.

Houston Texans:  The Texans 2015 season seems to be one injury issue after another, and it will be continuing on this week as multiple players are down (really just too many to even keep up with).

Indianapolis Colts:  The Colts leadership has been under fire all season, and Head Coach Chuck Pagano may have cemented his fate with one of the worst play calls of all time.  But he may not be going alone as the rumors of Ryan Grigson being on the hot seat are also coming out.

Jacksonville Jaguars:  The Jaguars will play at least one home game in London every year through 202o…leading many to believe that the Jaguars will officially move to London in 2021.

New England Patriots:  After several untimely injuries, the Patriots brought in veteran defensive back Cortland Finnegan for a tryout.

New Orleans Saints:  Linebackers coach Joe Vitt was injured while chasing burglars who attempted to steal his car.  Despite tearing his achilles (oh, and being 61 years old and not actually a player), Vitt is listed as doubtful for this week and has not been completely ruled out.
