Indianapolis Colts: The Colts will be without quarterback Andrew Luck for the second week in a row. Oddly enough, they were able to pull off their first win of the season without him against Jacksonville. To back up Matt Hasselbeck, the Colts have brought back quarterback Josh Johnson.
Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jaguars don’t have a lot of star players, but guard Brandon Linder should count as one. However, the team won’t have him for the rest of the year as a shoulder injury is putting him on injured reserve. With the open roster spot, the Jags have looked to bring in some help on the defensive side by adding former Chiefs linebacker, James Michael Johnson.
Chiefs’ take
: The fact that James Michael Johnson is getting so many looks from around the league really speaks highly of the Chiefs linebacker talent.

Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins have fired head coach Joe Philbin. The fan base and media in Miami have been looking for a scapegoat, and Philbin fits the bill. It should be noted that firing Philbin will do absolutely nothing to fix the offensive line or undo all of the terrible offseason moves the team invested in. To replace Philbin, the Dolphins are turning to former linebacker, Dan Campbell as the interim head coach. The Dolphins also fired Kevin Coyle. Again, this doesn’t undo any of the terrible front office mistakes of this team.
Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings have traded starting middle linebacker Gerald Hodges to the 49ers for center Nick Easton and a sixth round pick. The move may seem a little strange, but it is all win for the Vikes who are of the opinion that second round rookie Erik Kendricks (one of my draft crushes) is ready to start for them. The Vikings also stated that Easton was a player they tried to sign after the draft.
New Orleans Saints: The Saints have signed veteran punter Brian Fields as a temporary solution for injured Pro Bowl punter Thomas Morestead.
New York Giants: Tight end Daniel Fells has been hospitalized with a MRSA infection that will require surgery. The infection has led to his being placed on injured reserve. The league is taking MRSA very seriously after the Buccaneers had several players get infections last season. Star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr is accusing defenders of taking cheap shots at him. The claims come after video shows Beckham throwing a punch at a Bills player, which he has been fined for. Beckham intends to appeal the fine, based on…reasons?
