Good morning, Addicts! Welcome to Week 4 of the National Football League season, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens squaring off at Heinz Field under the lights. I’ll be rooting for Baltimore, because I want to see Pittsburgh drop to 2-2. Frankly, I don’t see either team making the postseason, but in the meantime, let’s see those losses pile up. Who are you rooting for and why?
Here’s the news you need to know:
How will Kansas City replace Phillip Gaines? – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"Chiefs rookie Steven Nelson comes into mind as well. He has not been active yet this season so I am guessing that the Chiefs ideally would have preferred he redshirt this season. However, if they need him, he’s someone to consider. Andy Reid indicated last week that Nelson wasn’t quite ready yet when asked if he could be active. “We’ll see on that,” Reid said. “He’s got to continue to work, he’s getting better there.”"
Albert Wilson shoulder injury could change receivers’ dynamic – Adam Teicher of ESPN
"It can’t hurt for the Chiefs to give more playing time to Conley on Sunday against the Bengals in Cincinnati, and that’s whether Wilson is available or not. Wilson had a promising finish to his rookie season last year but was unproductive in training camp, the preseason and the first three games."
Alex Smith needs to keep his eyes up (FILM STUDY) – Seth Keysor of Arrowhead Pride
"Reid said he needs to be better and the issues are on him. While he’s not blameless, that’s just a flat-out lie. Smith has to change his eye level to compensate for how poorly the line is playing. It’s either that, or fail. Smith has shown much better eye level in the past (particularly 2013, his first year with the Chiefs). Regardless of what happens with the line, Smith is the X-factor here. That eye level needs to be at least average for this offense to succeed."
