Good morning, Addicts! It’s HUMP DAYYYYYYYY. It is also a great day for the Kansas City Chiefs, because they are getting Sean Smith back from his three-game suspension. Head coach Andy Reid has already said that Smith will start immediately, although that is not shocking. Many people have said the Chiefs should let Smith walk after the season because of financial demands. If these first three games haven’t shown the need to re-sign him, nothing will.
Here’s the news you need to know:
Sean Smith looks like a savior for the Chiefs – Adam Teicher of ESPN
"That’s how much the Chiefs missed Smith. They were shredded on Monday night by the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Chiefs also appear likely to play this week without starting cornerback Phillip Gaines, who left the Packers game in the first quarter with a sprained knee."
Kansas City is moving onto Cincinnati – Adam Teicher of ESPN
"The Chiefs were down 31-7 and later 38-14 before making things mildly interesting. Quarterback Alex Smith got hot late in the game. He completed eight passes to wide receiver Jeremy Maclin for 141 yards and a touchdown in the games’ final 18 minutes."
Andy Reid shoulders blame for defeat – Associated Press
"He was only slightly more forthcoming on Tuesday, when he’d had roughly 12 hours to digest what went wrong in a 38-28 loss that was close in score only. The Chiefs trailed 31-7 at one point, and it took two late touchdowns just to get within two more possessions of victory."
Who is to blame for the Chiefs getting hammered? – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"A separate section for the head coach that’s not specific to just play calling. Andy Reid is responsible for everything on game day, as he told the media in his postgame press conference. So when the Chiefs get down by three scores in the first half, it’s on him."
