The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to get back on track come Monday night against the Green Bay Packers. Before then, I need to start picking these games with some accuracy. The first week, I went 9-7 in my NFL picks. Last week, I promised to be better. Instead, I rolled deep and went 8-8.
In other words, I lied to you people, and I’m ashamed of myself. Last year, I was unstoppable and went about 80 games over .500. This year? I could be picking based on uniforms and have a better chance. If I don’t start dominating this week, you should all petition FanSided to have me fired.
Alright, onto the picks… (All lines provided by BOVADA and OddsShark)
Kansas City Chiefs at Green Bay Packers (-7.5)
This is going to be an unpopular but predictable pick. Kansas City (1-1) is good enough to go on the road and pull this upset, but Green Bay (2-0) is almost unbeatable at Lambeau Field. To win, the Chiefs must force a turnover or two and play terrific offense. Can Alex Smith do enough to win this game? Hard to see him out-dueling Aaron Rodgers.
Pick: Green Bay 23, Kansas City 20
Washington Redskins at New York Giants (-4.5)
This is an unfortunate Thursday night game. Washington (1-1) might be the worse team in the league, and New York (0-2) should be undefeated but can’t get out of its own way. Frankly, this game just needs to go away.
Pick: New York 30, Washington 20
