NFL news: Around the league in 32 plays

Cleveland Browns: The Browns have traded defensive lineman Billy Wynn to the Colts for a conditional 7th round pick. The move corresponds with running back Shaun Draughn being activated to the roster.

Dallas Cowboys: The Cowboys suffered a huge blow with wide receiver Dez Bryant set to miss four to six weeks with a broken foot. Dallas also lost rookie pass rusher Randy Gregory for approximately four to six weeks with a severe high ankle sprain. To help deal with the loss of Bryant, the Cowboys traded a conditional fifth round pick to the Raiders for wide receiver Brice Butler and a conditional sixth round pick.
Houston Texans: The Texans have officially entered a quarterback controversy after pulling Brian Hoyer in the second half against the Chiefs. The battle for the starting job was highly publicized due to the Texans being featured on Hard Knocks.
Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins have promoted running back Jonas Gray to the 53 man roster. They also waived quarterback Logan Thomas in a corresponding move.
New England Patriots: So, Headsetgate is now a thing. I would imagine we get 16 different scandals in New England this year.

New York Giants: The Giants have signed Eli Manning to a $21 million/year extension. This move will set the upcoming market for quarterbacks.
New York Jets: The Jets defense took a shot as Antonio Cromartie has reportedly suffered a sever strain and will miss several weeks. The Jets also released defensive lineman Kevin Vickerson from their Injured Reserve.
Oakland Raiders: The Raiders have signed linebacker Aldon Smith to a one year deal. The move is extremely curious as Smith is not guaranteed to be available this year after his most recent legal troubles. Smith missed nine games in 2014 for serving a suspension. The Raiders will be without starting quarterback David Carr for some time as he left the game on Sunday with concussion symptoms. Veteran defensive back Charles Woodson also left the game with an arm injury and will miss an extended amount of time. They also lost their other starting safety, Nate Allen who was placed on Injured Reserve with Designation to Return. To help with losing both starting safeties, the Raiders have signed Taylor Mays.
- Chiefs’ take: The Aldon Smith move sounds more like Mark Davis than it does Reggie McKenzie. If that’s the case, then it’s good news for Chiefs fans as it means ownership is overriding football management.
