The Kansas City Chiefs have released their inactives for Sunday’s game at NRG Stadium against the Houston Texans, and there are some mild surprises.
The list is as follows: QB Aaron Murray, CB Steven Nelson, CB Marcus Cooper, OG Jeff Allen, WR Frankie Hammond Jr., DL Rakeem Nunez-Roches, TE Brian Parker.
Nelson and Cooper both being inactive is surprising because it leaves the Chiefs with only four corners, although free safety Ron Parker can jump in and play there if necessary. It is not shocking that Allen is not active, considering it had been said many times by head coach Andy Reid that he was still coming along.
There had been talk all morning that Eric Fisher would not suit up after expressing concern about his ankle sprain, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. However, Fisher is active but it remains unclear if he is going to start against J.J. Watt at right tackle. If Fisher can’t play, it will be Jah Reid getting the start after being signed this week. That is nothing but horrifying.
A source confirms Fisher told the #Chiefs he wanted to opt out of starting Sunday bc of his left high ankle sprain. @AaronWilson_NFL 1st.

Frankly, I don’t know what to make of this. Is Fisher trying to do the right thing by the team and tell the coaching staff he isn’t ready to go? Or, like some have suggested, is Fisher wimping out? I can never take that stance on an NFL player, so I’ll go with the former, but if he can’t go, it will be very disappointing.
