Chiefs 2015: How many games will they lose?

Surprises

The Chiefs will lose at least one game they shouldn’t. Last season they were able to lose to the woeful Titans and Raiders, and also falter in San Francisco; all games that they would have expected to win. In 2o15, playing in Oakland again will be a potential banana skin, though a game that they will be expected to win.

The Raiders are a much improved team from last season, and under new head coach Jack Del Rio they will be a tougher challenge this season. However, with memories from last year fresh in the mind, it would be surprising if Reid let his Chiefs become complacent two years running.

The two games that I am most worried about see the Chiefs face up to two of the best defensive lines in the league. Week 1 against the Houston Texans scares me. The biggest issue with the Chiefs currently is the offensive line, especially at right guard and left tackle. J.J. Watt, Vince Wilfork and Jadeveon Clowney against the line of the Chiefs is frightening.

Since Kansas City plays the Buffalo Bills every year, it would seem wrong to not be playing them in 2o15. Again, Arrowhead will host the Bills and that defense is mean. The Bills dominated the matchup last season and somehow managed to loose after an outstanding play from Ron Parker, and this is most definitely a game that must be handled with care.

Quarterback is an issue for the Bills, but with defensive head coach Rex Ryan and a running game relying on free-agent signing LeSean McCoy, this is an area they may be able to circumnavigate. Kansas City should win, but they must be extremely wary of the problems that the Bills pose.

So, those are the games that I can see the Chiefs losing. Away at Denver and Green Bay are write-offs. The Chiefs will go 1-1 against the Chargers and will lose one of the games in Cincinnati or Baltimore. Kansas City will lose a game they shouldn’t and then at least one of the home matchups against the Broncos and Steelers and the London game versus Detroit. With the tough schedule, I can see the Chiefs looking at a 9-7 or 10-6 record. Anything above that would be extremely impressive given the tough schedule: There are plenty of tough games for the Chiefs this season.

What do you think? Are you writing off Green Bay and Denver away and are you worried about AFC rivals such as Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati? Can you see the Chiefs going 1-1 with the Chargers and are you as worried by the Texans and Bills as I am?

Let me know in the comments, and as always… GO CHIEFS!!
