St. Louis Rams: Tre Mason has a hamstring injury that may keep him out of Week 1. This is bad news for the Rams because first round pick Todd Gurley is not expected to be back until after Week 2.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Bucs received kicker Kyle Brindza in their trade with the Detroit Lions. Tampa has had a lot of difficulty with its kickers in recent years.
Washington Redskins: Reports are coming out of Washington that there are a number of people within the organization that are ready to move on from quarterback Robert Griffin III. This isn’t altogether surprising considering the soap opera that seems to have been playing out around him for the past couple of years, on top of his disappointing career since his rookie season. The report also indicates that the Redskins may have reached out to other teams to discuss a trade, but have yet to find anyone interested. The Redskins did have some positive news, signing offensive tackle Trent Williams to a contract extension that makes him the highest paid tackle.
- Chiefs’ take: Because the Chiefs do not have a starter that the whole fan base and media is behind, RGIII to KC will absolutely become a conversation on some level. Andy Reid does have a history of taking quarterbacks that others say won’t work out and getting surprising performances from them…like Alex Smith. Ultimately though, I doubt the Chiefs are really interested in Griffin at this point.
That’s all for me this week Chiefs fans. Be sure to check out next week’s edition as there are sure to be some interesting last minute moves all over the league.
