The Kansas City Chiefs finish out their preseason schedule on Thursday night against the St. Louis Rams, looking for their first undefeated record in the exhibition since 1969. Guess what else happened that year? The Chiefs won the Super Bowl. The only other time Kansas City went undefeated in the preseason? 1966. The Chiefs also went to the Super Bowl that year.
In other words, tonight’s game means everything. Win, and Kansas City is going to the Super Bowl.
Here is how you can watch the most important game of the last 45 years:
Radio: 101 The FoxOdds: STL (-3)
If you live outside of the local coverage area (like yours truly) the only way to watch the game live in on NFL Game Pass over at NFL.com. The package includes a whole bunch of stuff including all the NFL preseason games and NFL Game Rewind, and it costs $99.99. It isn’t cheap, but if you can’t get enough football, it is a pretty cool package.
As for what else you need to know, the starters for Kansas City are not playing. Head coach Andy Reid is making sure that all of his stars are staying healthy for the regular season, so expect Chase Daniel and Aaron Murray to be splitting the quarterback duties.
It is not expected that Dontari Poe, Eric Fisher or Jeff Allen will play, although nothing is official yet. Also, look for Jason Avant and Albert Wilson to be on the sidelines throughout the contest.
