The rookie wide receiver is the definition of a combine star. Though his production at Georgia was perhaps not as high as other wide receivers, his combine numbers are truly eye popping. Out of all wide receivers in the 2015 draft class, Conley came third in the 40-yard dash, 4th in the bench and was 1st by quite some distance in both the vertical jump and the broad jump. Another number that Dorsey was keen to point out was his yards per catch, at 18.3 last season for Georgia. That is a sign of a phenomenal deep threat.

“He is a really sharp kid. He’s gonna pick the playbook up. He’s got the athletic skills to blend right in and I look forward to seeing him.” – Dorsey on Conley

The biggest advantage that Conley perhaps has is the lack of depth at the wide receiver position. After Albert Wilson, Conley could well be the next best wide receiver on the roster, and looks like he could stake a claim to be the second receiver by the back half of the season. If he is able to win the role as the second receiver, Conley could be set for a big season, and may well be the Chiefs’ rookie of the year.

So, do you agree with my shortlist for rookie of the year candidates? Obviously Peters is the favorite, but could you see someone else claiming the award? Are you as enamored with Mitch Morse as I am, and are there any other outside bets that you are backing to be rookie of the year? Let me know in the comments, and as always… GO CHIEFS!!
