Ribs…..
Num Num.
I hope I never have to order a last meal.
But if I did, well I know what it would be. Slow cooked, slow smoked full size wrap your hand around BBQ pork ribs.
I have literally traveled the world….well at least the US, searching for the finest BBQ, the best beer, and the most beautiful accommodating women.
Now that I am married, it is down to ribs and beer.
Oh well, I love my life and would not have it any other way.
But back to ribs.
I love ’em.
But they have to be cooked right.
Smoked for six hours minimum, 12 if you want to do it right.
I boil mine before I start the smoking process.
Then I get my remote controlled smoker going, head for church, then come back and watch a little pregame commentary.
I pull them out, and either sauce them up or smear on the dry rub and get to it.
But how do you do that at Arrowhead?
I have no clue.
I see people smoking them but I have a three hour drive to the stadium, and I like to sleep late, so that is out for me.
I see people (Oh God Help Us All) GRILLING the poor things.
Therefore I won’t attempt it.
I grab a rack at Arthur Bryannts, LC’s, or Gates depending on my mood and my company, then walk around the stadium like a cave man.
Dripping ribs in one hand, ice (and I do mean ice cold, I have a Yeti, but more on that later), beer in the other, I traverse the landscape,
in search of politically charged football debates, other varieties of food and drink, and of course tailgating set ups.
If I see you and you have something tasty like I don’t know anything really, I will ask for a taste so be ready.
Also cheerleaders, players, and anything of value I might find blowing around, such as ticket or parking pass upgrades.
It’s a grand life, and unlike other interests, (more accurately obsessions), one you do not need to ever get to old for.
But as far as ribs, well I call upon my AA family.
Let me know.
How do you cook good ribs with a tailgate set up?
