Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs are hitting a milestone in their 2015 season on Wednesday, as it will be the last practice of training camp. Yes, the team will obviously have more practices before the campaign begins, but none will be held at St. Joseph, Mo. Instead, the team will be back at One Arrowhead Drive. With their next game on Friday, this is the last practice before the Chiefs are in action again.
This is the news you need to know:
Defense dominates in Tuesday’s practice – Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star
"Cornerback Marcus Peters continues to stand out on short-to-intermediate routes. He does a nice job reading his keys. He had an interception off Alex Smith when he jumped a short pass intended for a receiver during the 11-on-11 period."
Chiefs make pair of roster moves, perhaps related to injuries – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"Drake was always a long shot after coming in the middle of camp. Davis will likely be the same way but the Chiefs need some linebacker depth right now with a number of injuries. Linebackers Josh Mauga, DJ Alexander and Justin March are all injured. Another linebacker, James-Michael Johnson, just returned from the injury list."
Eric Fisher’s MRI reveals ankle sprain – Adam Teicher of ESPN
"Fisher was taken from the practice field in a motorized cart Monday because of the ankle injury. He was able to walk off the field without assistance, though he was favoring the ankle. After receiving attention in Kansas City’s medical tent on the sideline, Fisher attempted to walk off the injury. After a few moments, however, he got into a golf cart and was driven away."
Kansas City needs to get Eric Berry more playing time – Adam Teicher of ESPN
"But it stands to reason Berry will play more in this week’s game. He needs the work. Between a sore Achilles tendon that forced him to miss much of training camp and the preseason, a high ankle sprain that forced him to miss five games early in the regular season and then his diagnosis of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, last season was almost a total wash from a football standpoint for Berry."
