36. Chris Burford

Burford was the first great receiver in franchise history. Burford came to the Texans when they were an expansion team and remained with the club until the conclusion of the 1967 season. Burford was part of two AFL championship teams and a participant in Super Bowl I.

Burford made the AFL All-Star team once and racked up 391 catches for 5,505 yards and 55 touchdowns. Burford’s numbers are staggering when you consider that even in the AFL, throwing the ball was nothing in comparison to today. Burford still averaged seven touchdowns per season and was inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame in 1975.

35. Marcus Allen

When Allen was drafted by the Los Angeles Raiders in 1982, who could have imagined he would be so loved by Chiefs fans? Allen came to Kansas City in 1993 and although he never had a 1,000-yard season with the club, continued to be a terrific weapon both in the run and passing attack.

In five seasons with the Chiefs, Allen scored 47 touchdowns and helped Kansas City reach the AFC Championship Game in 1993. Allen was still producing even in his final year of 1997, scoring 11 touchdowns while rushing for 505 yards. Through the end, Allen always had a nose for the goal line.
