18. Deron Cherry

We continue down the list with another Kansas City secondary star. Cherry is tremendously underrated because most of the team he played on were terrible, but Cherry was an unquestioned man among boys. The former college punter came to the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 1981 and was converted to safety, where he became a star.

Cherry fine-tuned himself into a six-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro. He was named to the NFL 1980s All-Decade team and won the “Whizzer” White Man of the Year award in 1987. Cherry racked up 50 interceptions during his career and was inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame.

17. Justin Houston

Yes, the $101 million man makes the list easily and fairly high up. Houston is entering his eighth season but has shown the capability of being a Hall of Fame-type talent when right. Houston came within a half-sack of tying the single-season NFL record for sacks with 22 in 2014, giving a glimpse of the type of dominance he can exude.

Through his 7+ seasons in Kansas City, the former University of Georgia star has 72.5 sacks. Houston is a four-time Pro Bowl and was named a First-Team All-Pro in 2015. Playing across from Tamba Hali most of his career, the duo was a devastating combination.
