Wins and losses in the preseason are of no consequence to football beyond August. The box score isn’t a reliable gauge either. Conversely, live action, however vanilla, can tell us a bit about where the Chiefs are. If nothing else, it’s their first shot to get prepared for a tough first quarter of the regular season. I personally hope they take full advantage of the first live action in six months. There’s no better time than the present to get their house in order.

Can I reasonably expect to see these four things in the first game of the preseason? Is preseason a bad barometer for team/player progress?
