Kansas City Chiefs: Four Training Camp Takeaways
The 2015 Kansas City Chiefs will take the field for their first preseason game in a little less than a week’s time. In fact, die-hard NFL junkies were able to get their first fix of the season last night as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings kicked off the preseason with the NFL’s Hall of Fame Game. With actual football games upon us, I was excited to see how this year’s Chiefs looked in person. So on Friday I made my annual trek up to St. Joe to see the Chiefs in action at training camp.
For those that have never been, I highly recommend going to camp if you get a chance. Unless you have the financial resources to sit in the front row at Arrowhead, there simply isn’t any other opportunity to see your favorite players up close and personal like you can at camp and after wasting away all summer long wishing for Chiefs news the opportunity to see them practice right before your eyes is simply too good to pass up.
This year I went to camp with my primary objective being to keep an eye on the offensive line. While I did watch them as much as possible, I also came away with some takeaways at other positions as well. While my four takeaways are certainly rooted in what I saw with my own two eyes on Friday, I also am taking into account everything that I’ve been seeing reported since camp started a couple weeks ago.
From our own excellent writers here at AA that have been at camp to some of the best Chiefs follows on Twitter (if you aren’t following Terez Paylor, Nick Jacobs, and Herbie Teope, you’re doing Twitter wrong) there has been a lot of good information and updates to pour over since practices got under way.
So with those in mind, here are my four biggest takeaways from Chiefs training camp.
