Chiefs: When will we know who they are?

When will we have an idea of who this team really is? Likely after either the Week 3 matchup against Green Bay, or the Week 4 game in Cincinnati. Poe will (hopefully) be back by Week 3, and Smith will return in Week 4. So the roster should be stabilized.

We will also have had several opportunities to see how much of the hype this revamped offense can live up to. By the time the game against the Bengals is in the books, K.C. will have played against the seventh, 12th, 14th, and 17th ranked defenses from last season, as ranked by pro-football-reference.com. The Chiefs will have also played under the spotlight in back-to-back primetime games.

The Kansas City defense may be a little less known due to the roster issues. However, it should give us a better view of how well several key players are performing. Can Derrick Johnson go right back to his dominant ways off of an injury? How well will Peters transition to the NFL? Can Houston match the incredible performance he gave us all last season?

And if the unit as a whole can be consistent, especially when playing against Peyton Manning, Aaron Rogers, and Andy Dalton in consecutive weeks, that should give us a decent look at what they can be overall.

If the Chiefs make it through all of that with decent record, I think they will be looking great.

GO CHIEFS!!!
