Sean Smith suspended for three games – Adam Teicher of ESPN.com
"But the Chiefs are scheduled to face, among other quarterbacks, Denver’s Peyton Manning and Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers without Smith. Chiefs have most guaranteed money in NFL – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"We should also point out that we don’t know exactly what “guaranteed money” is. Some people claim “guaranteed money” when it’s not really guaranteed until the following year. So it’s “likely money” but not guaranteed. The Justin Houston deal, for example, was widely reported as $50+ million guaranteed when only $30+ million was guaranteed on signing. So what is “guaranteed money”? I really don’t know."
How Kansas City can replace Sean Smith while he’s out – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"On one side the Chiefs will have Phillip Gaines, a 2014 third round pick. Most of us here feel pretty good about the strides Gaines has taken in the past year and are optimistic that he’ll play like he belongs when the season starts. So mark him down for one corner spot when Smith is out."
