Now for the team: the Chiefs’ schedule is again a tough one, but I have a better feeling than I’ve had in a while. Here is the first quarter prediction of the Chiefs 2015 season:

Week 1 – @Houston

This has a feel of a tough game: two outstanding defenses, two solid run games, but one capable quarterback.

But the beginning of the season this year, new offensive line, and unproven receiver corps against J.J. Watt and Co. makes me skiddish.

The overall feel of this says Chiefs, but it may be boring and low-scoring.

Chiefs 17,  Texans 10

Week 2 – vs. Denver

This is the game. The game that determines whether the Chosen One (Peyton Manning) has become mortal enough to be out dueled by any of the other AFC West teams.

The Chiefs get to test the Donkeys and their leader, and at home in the coliseum no less. Did I say coliseum? I meant Arrowhead Stadium.

This game will be good, but I think Manning still has the Chiefs’ number.

Broncos 24,  Chiefs 20

Week 3 – @Green Bay

Boom time. We all should know what happened last year when a certain “elite” team played the Chiefs on Monday night. Kansas City lobbed 41 points on the New England Patriots with Tom Brady behind center, nearly shutting them out if it weren’t for garbage-time scores.

Granted that was in Arrowhead, but this time the Chiefs have 11 days to prepare, and are pissed off from a close loss. Read that again. The Kansas City offense figures out it is actually very capable of scoring points.

Chiefs 35,  Packers 21

Week 4 – @Cincinnati

The team is hitting its stride, and is prepared to show that it can beat a good team after critics call the Green Bay win a fluke.

The game is close on the board, but the Chiefs are never really in trouble.

Chiefs 30,  Bengals 27
