Coffee with the Chiefs – Trouble at tight end?
Good morning, Addicts! Let’s get right to the latest Kansas City Chiefs news.
Chiefs set at tight end? – Adam Teicher of ESPN.com
"The Chiefs say Harris should be back for the start of training camp this summer. Even if he is, tight end is a position to watch for the Chiefs. Travis Kelce is their only established tight end and while that’s a good place for them to start, it’s not enough. The Chiefs were very effective the first half of last season when they went to their three-tight end formations and offensively fell off a bit after injuries forced them to go away from such personnel groupings."
What to watch at minicamp – Adam Teicher of ESPN.com
"The Chiefs had perhaps their most productive day of the offseason in the passing game on Friday, their most recent practice. Will they pick up where they left off? Jeremy Maclin beat Phillip Gaines, who unsuccessfully tried to hold him up at the line, on one of the first plays Friday for a long gain, and the offense kept rolling from there. The defense had clear wins in some of the earlier practices. Gaines and fellow cornerback Sean Smith have been among the best players in practice."
Peters, Nelson back for mandatory minicamp – B.J. Kissel of KCChiefs.com
"Because of an NFL rule that doesn’t allow rookies to participate in organized team activities (OTAs) until their academic term is over, both Peters and Nelson weren’t allowed to participate in the Chiefs’ last 10 practices."
How Kansas City can earn respect – Seth Keysor of Arrowhead Pride
"So, yeah, I get the divide. And I really don’t believe there’s more than one way to end it. The Chiefs, if they want to be taken seriously as any sort of contender, need to make the playoffs. And this time, they need to come away with at least a single win."
