Why did the Chiefs release Terrelle Pryor – Kaled Abdallah of NFL Spin Zone

"Pryor was drafted in the supplemental draft by the Oakland Raiders who gave up a third round selection to choose him in 2011. He beat out Matt Flynn for the Raiders starting job in 2013 and played for several weeks until injuries and poor play saw him benched in favor of Matt McGloin. In Oakland he showed flashes of his trademark and remarkable athleticism along with some decent quarterback play."

Kansas City should be watching Tom Brady situation – Adam Teicher of ESPN.com

A Patriots team, presumably weakened by whatever length of suspension Brady might receive, could be in competition for seeding with the Chiefs if both teams win their respective divisions. The teams also could be vying for wild-card spots and an absence of any length for Brady could be the deciding factor there.
