On Thursday night, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to the Kansas City media about Marcus Peters, the team’s first-round pick out of Washington. The pick comes with a ton of fanfare, with many supporters seeing the immense amount of talent in the 6’0, 198-pound corner.
Reid discussed why Peters was the pick, while also addressing some off-field issues that included being kicked off Washington’s team in 2014. For all the interviews in full, check out KCChiefs.com.
Reid is not overly-concerned about the past with Peters, confident he can move forward.
"He had a situation there where he was suspended from the football team... We all make mistakes." - Andy Reid on Marcus Peters.

Very telling quote from Reid on Peters’ off-the-field character:
Reid on Peters: “He’s not a problem off the field….he’s not a problem in you’re locker room. That’s not what he is."

More on Peters getting kicked off Washington’s squad:
Reid: “It was an emotional situation and he didn’t handle it the right way. We think he’s learned from it."
