Kansas City Chiefs: 18th selection

With the 18th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select… DeVante Parker

I was floored when Parker fell to the Chiefs at No. 18. With the choices I had, it was a no-brainer to select the star receiver. The Chiefs were able to sign Jeremy Maclin in the offseason, but they lack a true second receiver for Alex Smith. Parker is a big target for Smith and excels at the jump ball. He has a huge catch radius and at 6-foot-3 would provide another big target in the red zone.

Some have him lower in the top receivers group because he missed seven games with a broken foot, but after the NFL Combine his stock has been rising as a potential top-20 pick. This is exactly why I had to select him, even though a position like offensive line is a more pressing need.

While this is all speculation in a simulated draft, I would be extremely happy if this scenario works out in favor of Kansas City. One this is for certain, it will be nice to finally know the mindset of general manager John Dorsey and head coach Andy Reid.

Well there you have it, Addicts, my selection in the first round of the 2015 NFL draft. So what are your thoughts? Have you done a mock draft? Who would you select with the 18th pick. Let us know in the comments. And enjoy the 2015 NFL Draft!
