NFL Draft: Peter King sees Chiefs trading up

The 2015 NFL Draft is one of the craziest in recent memory. Outside of the first-overall pick, where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to take Jameis Winston, nobody has a clue about any other selection. On Tuesday, Sports Illustrated’s Peter King took his cuts at a mock draft, and has some interesting choices.

King sees the Kansas City Chiefs trading up with the San Francisco 49ers to take DeVante Parker, the stud receiver from Louisville:

"I would be surprised if Parker is still hanging around at this pick, but if he is, I think Chiefs GM John Dorsey would jump at the chance to grab him—especially ahead of Houston, which wants a receiver high in this draft. I might argue that no contending team has as big a single position need as Kansas City at wide receiver. No Chiefs wideout caught a touchdown pass last year, and now Dwayne Bowe has been let go (to Cleveland). The 6-2 ½ Parker’s a perfect pick for Dorsey and Andy Reid. Dark-horse pick here that would not surprise me one bit: Florida offensive lineman Cam Ervin."

If Kansas City lands Parker, most fans would likely be thrilled. Parker would give the Chiefs another weapon with Alex Smith to accompany Jamaal Charles, Jeremy Maclin, Travis Kelce and De’Anthony Thomas. Suddenly, Andy Reid’s offense would have serious talent, perhaps even top-10 talent depending on the offensive line.
