Tamba Hali is ready for the 2015 NFL season
Tamba Hali wants to go hunting. The Kansas City Chiefs outside linebacker is returning for his 10th NFL season and is hoping to rebound after a six-sack campaign in 2014, his lowest total since 2008.
On Monday, Hali took to Instagram in his typical, all-caps style to let people know his thoughts:
"I HAVENT BEEN THIS MUCH EXCITED TO GET BACK ON THE FIELD AND START HUNTING. @kcchiefs #SACKCITYCENTRAL #THISOURYEAR #FEARNOMAN #RESPECTEVERYBODY #DESTROYTHEENEMY @jhouston50 MISS MY DAWG."
Hali is one of the most revered players in Chiefs history, especially after he willingly took less money this offseason to stay with the team. Most, including me, assumed Hali would be a cap casualty because of his $11 million cap number. Instead, Hali took a $7 million pay cut to stay in Kansas City, despite having a lucrative market waiting for him.
With Dee Ford entering his second season, and Justin Houston fresh off a 22-sack year, the Chiefs have one of the most devastating pass-rush combinations in the league. Add Derrick Johnson back into the mix at linebacker, and you will have a hard time finding a better group anywhere in the NFL.
At 31 years old, Hali might have his best days behind him but he remains a force. Look at that picture above. Would you feel comfortable as a quarterback?
