Previously on Free Agent Fantasy, we discussed if the Kansas City Chiefs would like to have Randall Cobb at wide receiver instead of current player Dwayne Bowe.
Now I know that this was a obvious question and most people in their right mind would rather have Cobb over the struggling Bowe. Bowe does have some good qualities and has shown he can be productive, but he is on the way down while Cobb is on the way up.
This week we bring a couple of wide receivers to the table for the Chiefs. Bronco wide receiver Wes Welker and Philadelphia Eagles Jeremy Maclin.
Lets start with the former Patriot and current Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker.

Wes Welker is on the decline, that goes without saying. But that said he still brings a great veteran presence on the field that that the Chiefs are lacking in the wide receiver group. Welker is coming off his worst season in recent memory. He suffered from some injuries this season, and with the emergence of Emanuel Sanders his time in Denver will be limited and may very well be a cap casualty. Yes quarterback Alex Smith is not known for throwing the long ball, but if he continues the short passing game, who better to throw the ball to than Welker.
Welker will also command a lower dollar amount and might be able to be signed for a one year deal. This allows the Chiefs some flexibility due to the cap situation and if successful the upside for signing Welker could be potentially huge.
The second receiver the Chiefs could look for is the speedster Jeremy Maclin.

Maclin is coming off a good season for the Eagles. He was able to find the endzone 10 times and accumulate 1318 yards good for a 15.5 yards per catch average. Now the connection here cannot be more obvious in that head coach Andy Reid was there to draft Maclin back in 2009. Maclin was injured and missed the entire 2013 season but was able to come back with a passion in 2014. His price tag will be a lot higher than Welker, but he adds a much needed boost of speed and poses a deep threat should Alex Smith decide to bomb one out there. If the Chiefs should decide to go for Maclin there will need to be some of the cuts and restructuring that were discussed last week.
