Fixing the Chiefs’ Wide Receiver Problems (and Everything Else)

If you hadn’t heard, the Chiefs had a historically poor group of wide receivers this season. Let’s fix that for 2015.

On this episode of Roughing the Kicker, Joshua Brisco and Ryan Landreth talk about new Chiefs Terrelle Pryor and Da’Rick Rogers, new developments in the Chiefs’ front office, and Hall of Fame-related news. Then the show looks at the the top 10 free agent wide receivers on the market and at three rookies who would probably look good in red and gold. The show ends with a debate about the state of the organization and rapid-fire look at this weekend’s playoff action.

If the Chiefs franchise really is incompetent, how do you fix it?

We’re all sick of the no-touchdown stat about the Chiefs’ wide receivers, but it’s time to fix the problem. With Dwayne Bowe’s uncertain status and a thin bench, Ryan and I discuss the top 10 free agent wide receivers and why they may or may not fit into the plan for the 2015 Chiefs. We also talk about the Chiefs five-quarterback roster and where we think the team will go prior to training camp. Scott Chasen gives a quick look at why Da’Rick Rogers is an excellent signing for the WR-starved Chiefs, and then Ryan and I jump into the wide receiver discussion as it evolves into a debate about the nature of the Chiefs franchise.

My question to Ryan was this: If the Chiefs franchise really is incompetent, how do you fix it?
