Pro Football Focus Gives 5 Kansas City Chiefs Top-10 Grades For 2014

Let’s start with this: Pro Football Focus (PFF) handed out top-10 grades to five Kansas City Chiefs at their respective positions. However, that numbers jumps to 11 if you include special teams roles.

It should also be noted that three players who finished the season on IR—Derrick Johnson, Eric Berry and Mike DeVito—ranked as top-10 talents in 2013.

The following grades, excluding special teamers, are limited to athletes who partook in at least 25 percent of snaps.

Here are the 11 (KR represents kick returners, ST represents special teamers):

As far as honorable mentions go, Alex Smith finished 16th (14th in passing), while Jamaal Charles placed 13th (sixth in rushing). The latter, who was ranked No. 2 overall in 2013, primarily dropped off due to fewer opportunities, as Charles’ snap count decreased from 870 to 665.

Also, for those wondering, Mike McGlynn finished dead last among 78 guards.
