Pay Justin Houston.
With a strip-sack of Philip Rivers early in the third quarter, Justin Houston became the franchise single-season sack leader for the Kansas City Chiefs. His 21st sack broke the record previously held by hall of fame linebacker Derrick Thomas.
Houston, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, is 1.5 sacks away from the NFL single-season sack record held by Michael Strahan. Should Houston break that record this afternoon than one could expect a record-setting deal for Houston should the Chiefs decide to not franchise him.
Here’s the Vine of Houston’s record-breaking sack from the Kansas City Star’s Jeff Rosen.
