De’Anthony Thomas returned a punt 81-yards for his first career return touchdown. He added a little spice at the end with a flip into the end zone. It was neat.
Thomas was a fourth round pick of the Chiefs in this year’s draft. The rookie missed the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury and then took a little bit of time to get into the flow of things on offense and special teams. While he’s flashed the speed and agility, he’s made some curious decisions when it came to some of the punts he tried to return.
None of that was a problem in the first quarter against the Oakland Raiders though. DAT also has a six yard carry and a long reception that was called back due to a penalty.
The Chiefs lead the Raiders 7-0 through one quarter of play thanks to the first of what we hope are many DAT punt return touchdowns.
