Jamaal Charles Bruised Knee Against Denver
By Ben Nielsen
Jamaal Charles bruised his knee in Sunday night’s loss to the Denver Broncos, according to Andy Reid.
Reid told reporters at his press conference on Monday that Charles should be fine, but he experienced some swelling in his knee. He also says he anticipates Charles to be available for next week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Charles played through the injury on Sunday and did not come out of the game.
It was another light workload for Charles against the Broncos. Charles carried the ball ten times and was targeted six times in the passing game against Denver. It is the sixth time this season he’s had 15 or fewer carries in game. At the moment Charles is on pace for his fewest carries in a non-knee injury season since 2009.
Meanwhile, it should be noted Knile Davis hasn’t seen much action since the Buffalo Bills game a few weeks ago. In the last three week Davis has participated in only 14 snaps, carrying the ball 11 times for 13 yards. Why he’s been eliminated from the offense, I don’t know.
In addition to Charles, Allen Bailey has officially been diagnosed with a concussion and will now have to go through the league’s protocols before he can return to practice. Vance Walker and Kevin Vickerson replaced Bailey after his injury.
