It is expected be under 30-degrees at kickoff when the Chiefs and Broncos get started, and down to around 20-degrees by the start of the second half. Please say this means we are going to get cold weather Peyton Manning. (Fingers crossed.)

The Chiefs absolutely need to win this game if they want to keep their hopes alive in the AFC West. A win means the Chiefs would be tied with the Broncos for first place in the division but the Broncos would hold the tie-breaker because they would have the better AFC West record. This means the Chiefs would need some help if they want to take the AFC West crown. But, hey, keep your options open, right?

A loss puts the Chiefs in a serious bind when it comes to their playoff hopes. At 7-5, the Chiefs would almost need to win-out if they wanted to ensure a wild card berth. One would think 10-6 would be enough to get in, too, but the AFC North and Miami may have something to say about that idea.

The best way to solve all of these problems is to win, and a win over the Denver Broncos would be freaking sweet. Hopefully the 10-day layoff helps the Chiefs’ cause more than it hurts it.
