Kansas City Chiefs Continue Royals’ Magic

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the New York Jets Sunday, and it couldn’t have been more fun to watch.

Was it their best game this season? No, not by a long shot. That distinction goes to the Monday Night Football game against the New England Patriots, of which I was honored to attend, and not the least bit biased.

But back to the Chiefs/Jets game.

After being overshadowed in October by the Royals and their magical return to the World Series, the Chiefs needed to win this game, not just to keep their playoff hopes alive, but to remind the good folks of Kansas City that fall is for football. They did so not with flawless execution, but through a series of quirky plays that should endear them all the more to fans (or was that just me?).

There were three plays in this game that stand out as pure entertainment, and helped take some of the sting out of the heartbreaking ending to the World Series.
