Could Eric Berry end up playing on Sunday? Read between the lines of Andy Reid’s comments and one may find some positive things.

Said Reid comments are as follows:

"Q: Do you have a good feeling about Eric Berry with regards to Sunday?REID: “Yeah, he went through Monday’s practice. He felt good. He’s going to go through today’s, and I think we’ll just, you know, see how he does. He came back and he felt good. So, I’m pretty good with him today and we’ll see how it goes from there.”"

Let’s speculate away.

Berry hasn’t played since spraining his ankle in week two against the Denver Broncos. He’s had four weeks off of practice and returned to practice for the first time this week. While that time off the field may mean he is a bit rusty, he still represents an upgrade to the secondary. Although this amount of time could leave him too sore to play on Sunday.

Should Berry be able to play on Sunday that would be a significant development for the Chiefs, who will likely be missing Chris Owens in the slot this week because of a knee injury. We’ve noted how important this game is to the Chiefs’ season so getting a player like Berry back at a time when the team needs him would be huge.
